wow.aethus.pl: The Official Game Page, Explained

Aethus is the person who made Azeroth Survivors. wow.aethus.pl is the domain where that game runs. It is one page on the author's site, not a download portal and not a copy hosted somewhere else. If you press Play and land anywhere but that address, you are not on the game. The sections below cover what the domain is, who runs it, and why it will not load inside other sites.

The domain and its download path were checked on 27 October 2026.

What wow.aethus.pl is

wow.aethus.pl is a subdomain of aethus.pl. The parent domain belongs to the author. The wow subdomain is where the game is served. Two addresses, one owner, one game.

What sits there is a single page that starts the client. It is not a download site and not a launcher that installs something before the game will open. The Windows archive is offered from a download path on the same host, and it is optional. The browser build starts without it.

It is also not a mirror. There is no second official address, no region variant, and no "backup domain" that the author rotates to. A page that copies the game and calls itself a mirror is a different thing wearing the same name.

Who is Aethus

Aethus made Azeroth Survivors. The game is a fan project built on a Warcraft skin, and it is free: no account, no store, no purchase, no subscription hiding behind a "pro" tier.

This fan site is not Aethus, and Aethus does not run this site or answer for it. A real name, a country, other projects: this page does not have any of that, and it will not guess. A profile assembled from guesses is how a fan page ends up writing fiction about a developer who never asked for one.

Why the game only runs on its own page

The client checks where it is being drawn. If it finds itself inside another site's frame, it stops and shows a notice instead of loading. That is a setting the author chose. It is not a browser fault and not a broken link.

The reason is ordinary. A framed copy on someone else's domain takes traffic from the person who made the game, wraps advertising around it, and breaks saves, because the save lives with the address the game was loaded from. Refusing the frame protects all three.

It is also why the play button on this site opens the official page in a new tab instead of drawing the game here. The card is a door, not a window.

Is it safe?

Four checks, each of them a few seconds:

  1. The address bar reads wow.aethus.pl over https. A lookalike with .pi, .p or an extra word is not it.
  2. Nothing asks you to sign in, register or pay. The game has no account system, so a login prompt is the wrong page.
  3. A Play button on another site should hand you over to that domain. If the game starts inside the page you are already on, you are looking at a framed copy.
  4. The game matches the record this site publishes: nine classes, twelve zones, Elwynn Forest first, Paladin at 245 health with a self-heal, and Edwin VanCleef closing Elwynn at 16:00.

Those four are the same checks used on the wow survivors page, where the point is telling the nickname apart from other projects. Here the point is telling the address apart from its imitators.

Why some sites show a red warning

"Fake website detected" appears when the client finds itself framed. The warning is about the page you are on, not about wow.aethus.pl. Someone embedded the game, the game noticed, and it stopped.

Read that backwards and the notice is a useful signal: it tells you the site around the game is not the author's. Close the tab, open the official page, and the red text goes away because the frame does.

Screenshots of that warning circulate as proof the game is sketchy. The opposite is closer to true. A client that refuses to run where its author did not put it is doing the careful thing.

What this site is

azerothsurvivors.io is a fan page about the game. It is not Aethus, not Blizzard, and not the game. It publishes notes on the current build and links out. It does not host, mirror or modify a file, and the Windows archive it points at is the author's own.

If a page here is wrong about a number, the contact page is the place to say so. The game is still one click from the home page either way.

If you typed the address wrong

The address is wow.aethus.pl. No path, no port, no code, no trailing word.

The two misses this site sees most often are wow.aethus.pi and wow.aethus.p. Neither resolves to the game. If you arrived from a search result, read the domain before you press Play: the game's own host is the only place the client will load.

On a phone the address is the same one, and the limits are different. That route is on azeroth survivors mobile.

FAQ

Is wow.aethus.pl the official page?

Yes. It is the address the author serves Azeroth Survivors from, and the game only starts there. This site links to it and does not copy it.

Is wow.aethus.pl safe?

The browser build asks for no account, no payment and no install. The Windows archive is a separate optional download from a path on the same host, and it is an .exe in a .rar, so treat it like any downloaded program.

Who is Aethus?

The person who made Azeroth Survivors. The game is a free fan project, not a Blizzard product. This page does not publish a real name or a location, because it has no verified source for either.

Why does a site say "fake website detected"?

Because that site put the game inside a frame. The client checks where it is drawn and refuses to load when it is not on its own page. The warning is about the site around the game, not about the game.

Can I play Azeroth Survivors somewhere else?

Not the game itself. Copies on other domains are frames, mirrors or repacks. The one exception is this site's own guide pages, which link out rather than embed. On a phone, the browser route is on the mobile page.
